Our rankings of the top 10 executive MBA programs, much like all other rankings, are fairly subjective. We are sure there will be many readers who will disagree with the rankings below. We polled several individuals from Business School Admission, MBA Admission, and AdmissionsConsultants® and we also talked with EMBA graduates and current students from all of the programs below. We gave particular attention to recruiter perspectives, the qualifications of the incoming EMBA students, the professional successes of the EMBA graduates, and the curriculum ideologies of the various executive MBA programs. We welcome your constructive criticisms and comments but politely request that you refrain from "flaming" us should your favorite program be ranked slightly lower than where you believe it should be. Finally, we admit we have only one non U.S. executive MBA program ranked in our top ten. Perhaps we are a bit ethnocentric, but we do believe the American business education system is still ahead of the Europeans, Asians, and Canadians although we do note that the universities in these regions and countries are making significant progress towards eliminating that gap.
Executive MBA students are generally older than their full-time business school student counterparts. When this is not true, it is likely due to the "quality" of the EMBA's work experience. To use an admittedly, much overused analogy, the EMBA program focuses more on the 50,000 foot view while the full-time MBA program maintains a focus a little bit closer to 10,000 feet. |
